Judy Carol Nocus, 83, a longtime Martinsville resident, passed away peacefully on her birthday, Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Demaree Crossing in Greenwood, Indiana, surrounded by the love of her three daughters.Born on Thursday, July 29, 1943, in Washington County, Indiana, Judy was the daughter of Herbert McPherson and Mildred (Walton) McPherson. She married the love of her life, Richard Allen Nocus, on June 16, 1962. Together they shared nearly 59 years of marriage before Richard's passing on June 4, 2021.Shortly after their marriage, Judy and Richard made the move from Terre Haute to Martinsville in the mid-1960s. Martinsville became their lifelong home, where they lovingly raised their family and built countless friendships throughout the community.Judy dedicated more than 23 years of service as a cashier at the Martinsville Kroger. She retired in 1995, leaving behind many cherished memories of the people she met during her years of service.Judy embraced the simple joys of life. She loved playing bingo, line dancing, losing herself in a good book, and watching detective television shows. More than anything, however, she treasured the time spent with her family.She leaves behind her loving daughters, Carol (Tim) Wesner of Sebastian, Florida, Michelle Wiltermood of Greenwood, Indiana, and Raquel Johnson of Greenwood, Indiana; her brother, David McPherson of Florida; her sisters, Debbie (Junior) Flores and Sherri McPherson, both of Florida; seven beloved grandchildren, Amy Muncy, Cody (Maddie) Wiltermood, Bryan (Leah) Wiltermood, Kyle Wiltermood, Sophia Johnson, Jordyn Wesner, and David (Lexi) Johnson; and eight cherished great-grandchildren, Maleah Muncy, Greyson Harshman, Walker, Emmy, Sutton and Weston Wiltermood, and David Charles and Ainslee Johnson.She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Richard Allen Nocus; her father, Herbert McPherson; her mother, Mildred Daughrity; son-in-law, Chris Johnson; five brothers, Morris, Billy, Larry, Ronnie, and Ricky McPherson; and two sisters, Linda Corey and Donna Hackney.Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Judy's life from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Neal & Summers Funeral Home in Martinsville. Reverend Mark Suter and Reverend Becky Suter will co-officiate a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. in New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville, where Judy will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.Condolences and fond memories are encouraged to be shared with Judy’s family online at www.nealandsummers.com
